Quarantine Self Care Diaries: 4 Ways to Care for your Hair at Home!

Hey, quarantined cuties! We hope you're all staying safe and healthy! Being at home can be tough, but it doesn't need to make you feel like you're in a rut! It’s super important be kind to ourselves especially during these times. To help, we want to give you some tips and tricks on how to self-care during this anxious time in our newest blog segment: Quarantine Self-Care Diaries. Let us help you indulge in some well-deserved self-care while you shelter in place!

Today we'll talk about our fav form of self care: Hair care! Here are some ways to take care of your hair while you're in quarantine!

1. Mask it up

Using a hair mask once a week in the shower can make a big difference to your hair texture, as well as make your hair feel like she just came back from the most expensive spa. Slather and massage a healthy dollop of your hair mask into your hair and in less than ten minutes, the mask will leave your hair so soft! Hair masks repair damage, adds shine, and deep conditions your hair in such a relaxing way. 

 

2. Lather your hair in some essential oils 

Oils and serums aren’t just for when you style your hair, they’re great for before bed, when you wake up in the morning to go lounge on the couch, or before your Zoom call date with your besties. Hair oils are a quick and easy way to prevent split ends, soften your hair, and leave a good shine. Just apply a few drops to wet or dry clean hair. Starting at the back, work your serum through your lengths and ends. Then, comb it through to really get it in there!  3. Keep it vibrant AF

Maintaining your color at home is a must for any hair care routine. Whether it’s using our Vegan No Yellow to ash everything out, Vegan No Orange to remove brass, or our After Color Line to make sure everything stays as vibrant as ever, your hair color needs some love even when your plans are to stay home. For Vegan No Yellow and Vegan No Orange, apply it on your damp or dry hair by massaging into the lengths of your locks for 1-5 minutes and then rinse. For a stronger effect, leave it on for 5-10 minutes. For After color, you can use it as your normal shampoo or whenever your color is looking a little dull!  4. The dirtier the hair, the better  

Since you’re home, this is a great time to hit pause on frequent hair washes and allow your hair to preserve it's natural oils, without worrying about it ruining your hairstyle in public. This tip is especially helpful if you find that your hair tends to get greasy a bit too fast. Try washing your hair twice a week, and even once a week if you can. To keep it from getting too greasy, do your best to not touch your hair and leave it up in a ponytail or bun to keep it from bothering you around the house. The less you wash your hair, the less greasy it'll be, and the better texture your hair will have. Trust!
