Fanola Master Frostout Class with Richiee

Richiee has been a Fanola Artist for a year and this will be his 3rd Fanola Education class! Richiee lives in Stockton, CA and this opportunity to teach a blonde “Frost Out” class allowed him to travel to Los Angeles, CA with our Education Manager Jessica.

Prep Day:

To prep the model, Richiee used the No Yellow Cream Lightener with 30-VOL and mixed in the Fiber Fix N.1, but for class day, Richiee will be highlighting the No Yellow Ultra Lightener to showcase the power of the bleach. Ater the model was done processing, Richiee rinsed her hair and applied the Fiber Fix Shampoo and followed with the Fiber Fix Bond Connector, he left the bond connector on and applied color over it. This technique was learned when Richiee attended a Fanola Education class taught by our Artistic Director James Miju in August 2018.

Formula:
  • Roots: 8.11 (10g) + 7.11 (5g) + 10-vol
  • Mids/Ends: Argento Toner (5g) + 10 ICE (5g) + 12.7 (10g) + 8.2F (5g) + 10-vol

Class Day:

Richiee began the class explaining what he did during prep day on the model and why he wanted to bleach and tone the back of her head, this helps to give a better understanding what the attendees will expect from the class and learn how to match a previous color. Jasmine then mixed the bleach using the No Yellow Ultra Lightener with 30-VOL and Fiber Fix. Once the bleach was mixed, Jasmine and Richiee began to apply the bleach in foils on the front portion of the hair. During this time, Richiee had people walk up close and personal to take a look at how he was applying the bleach and opened the floor for questions.Assisting Richiee for class was LA local artist Jasmin, also known on instagram as @byprado, this was the first time the two met and it was exciting to see our fellow artists join together and create a welcoming and helping community atmosphere. Another artist also drove up to attend the class, Regina known as @hellbentforhair and brought two stylists from her salon to support Richiee.

Once the process of applying the bleach was completed, he saw and then explained that he noticed some pieces in the back needed to be lifted more, while Jasmine was finishing her section in the front, Richiee went back through the back of the head and applied bleach to the spots that needed higher lifting. After going back with bleach, the class broke for lunch while the models’ hair processed.

After lunch, Richiee took the model to the bowl and first rinsed the front of the head (making sure to not intertwine the back and front sections), he used the Fiber Fix Shampoo and pre-toned with the Vegan No Yellow Shampoo. After he rinsed her hair, he applied the Fiber Fix Bond Connector and left it on her hair like he did the previous day. Next, Jasmine and him mixed the formulas for the roots and the mids; he used the same color formulas from prep day.

Formula:

Roots: 8.11 (10g) + 7.11 (5g) + 10-vol

Mids/Ends: Argento Toner (5g) + 10 ICE (5g) + 12.7 (10g) + 8.2F (5g) + 10-vol

While this was occurring, people came back up and got a closer look on how he works the toner throughout the hair. After he was done applying the color and the hair processed, Richiee rinsed the hair again but this time used the Nutri Care Shampoo, Conditioner and the Bond Connector. Once he finished washing her hair, he applied the Nutri Care Spray Mask and then applied the Diamante Oil to the models’ damp hair. Then Richiee began to blow dry and style the models’ hair, using his unique curling style he does on every client; demonstration of his curling technique was highly requested!
