New York Fashion Week is the ultimate event for designers to showcase their new designs for the new upcoming season. Even though it is centered around fashion, a look is incomplete without a good hair do.
Here are 5 hair styles that stole the show at NYFW:
Barrettes with an intricate design were all the rage on the streets of New York during fashion week. Mismatching them while they matched the color of your outfit was the way to go. Wearing intricate barrettes can bring attention to any do and emphasis your outfit even more, all while letting you be creative on how you mismatch them yourself.
Every girl loves something sparkly, and girls at NYFW nailed it with incorporating some bling in their hair. Created by hairstylist Justine Marjan, models during the Alice + Olivia show had miniature pearls and crystals tied in their braids creating such a heavenly soft look for the models. Another bling incorporated style was strings of diamonds that model Lexi Boling was spotted wearing. The look was inspired by Princess Stéphanie of Monaco in 1987, where diamonds are dripping over her head. This spunky choice of hair was an outfit in itself and screamed royalty.
Good news! Our favorite lazy girl hair-do is acceptable in the fashion world. Both Rebecca Minkoff and Kate Spade incorporated buns into their shows showcasing models with the look. Rebecca Minkoff went for the messy bun look that still managed to look professional and chic. It was created by stylist Justine Marjan and translated the look of a working woman who has fun on the weekends.
Kate Spade brought space buns and braids for her women going to the flower market on a weekend morning theme and we are here for it. Hair Stylist James Pecis created this look which created such a fun and different way to wear buns. The model looked gorgeous and chic all while keeping up with the casual weekend morning theme. We wish we looked this great going to the market!
Someone call Blair Waldorf because headbands are back and better than ever. We saw a trend of padded headbands this fashion week by some stylish show-goers. Not only does a headband bring a pop of color to your hair but it accentuates it too! Wearing a headband does your hair for you, easy and very in!
5. Neon Wigs
What better way to get noticed then to brighten things up. Jeremy Scott turned heads by using models with neon hair that complemented their eye shadow. Hair Stylist Eugene Souleiman created this look for the show. This brings a 2000's neon trend back on the map and makes it as fashionable as ever knowing creative genius Jeremy Scott brought it back.
