Fanola Babe, Taylor Vo also known as @votvylor is a fun, sweet, down to earth girl, and an amazing momma of two! From a beauty guru, to a fashion brand owner, we had the pleasure of getting to know more about her, her brand Glosse, and her goals for the future!
How have you been tending to your mental health during these times?
It's really helpful because I have a lot of help when it comes to watching the kids. So I spend a lot of time alone and I watch shows or do a lot of online shopping, it became a really bad habit because I've memorized my debit card, like the whole number! So a lot of online shopping has been helping me a lot.
You recently launched your online boutique, Glosse. How did your passion for that begin?
It's been going really well, I've been really happy with it. I feel like for the first time in a long time, I'm actually really passionate about what I'm doing. I used to do makeup and I still do it a little bit, but I've just kind of fallen out of passion with it. I've always really loved fashion, with the extra time now I found the courage to step in that direction.
I started Glosse in July of last year and it had been in the works for about a year. It’s been a lifelong thing. I used to do OOTDs in middle school so it has always been there and now that I have more time, it just kind of came out. It is a lot of work, especially with two kids and doing everything on my own has been difficult. However, I am fortunate enough to be able to stay at home and focus on it.
On how she is dealing with quarantine:
At first when quarantine happened, I dreaded it. I hated it so much, but within two weeks I got used to it. On the bright side, I did gain a lot of free time. Before quarantine, I was kind of in this ditch where I wasn't passionate about what I was doing anymore. I didn't know what steps I was going to take, I had this clothing brand, but it wasn't the right time to launch, but then I had a lot of time to reevaluate my situation and find something to do that I'm actually passionate about. On top of that, I also get to spend a lot of time with my kids!
How would you describe your personal style?
Honestly, it is something I kind of still struggle with! I think it depends really on my mood and how I'm feeling. I follow a lot of different kinds of inspirations on Instagram. If it were a scale between streetwear, boyish clothes to soft girl clothes, I’m constantly bouncing back and forth between the two. I don’t feel like I’m ever just one thing, sometimes I feel really girly and I want to wear a dress and sometimes I just want to wear sneakers and a tee shirt!
On her favorite Fanola item and her favorite part about hair care routines:
The Keraterm mask is my absolute favorite! It smells so good and it helps with my frizz. I honestly only wash my hair once a week and when I do, I only use deep conditioners. I’m so extra, I'm that person that has 10 steps in their skin care routine. I've even recently developed a four step teeth routine. So the more products for me, the better, that's just how I am. If they invent a product that can help improve my hair in some way, I'm going to do it. I don't feel like there's anything out there that I don't like about hair care!
What is your favorite thing about being a Fanola Babe?
Everyone who works for the Fanola family is so sweet. Fanola actually cares about creating relationships with the people they work with rather than it just be a work relationship. It feels a lot more easy, relatable, casual, and not a strict business all the time. I don't find enjoyment in working with a brand that I feel like I can't be myself with or relate to. Fanola actually gets to know you as an influencer and they take the time to create that relationship with you and I’ve noticed that for so long!
